Shure Secures Sustainability in AV (SAve) Certification

NILES, IL, August 10, 2026 — Sustainability in AV (SAVe) is the first industrywide U.S.-based organization to bring stakeholders in the audio-visual field together to take concerted action to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Shure supports SAVe’s mission and is deepening its own longstanding commitment to sustainability by becoming SAVe Certified at the corporate level. Twenty-one Shure Associates, representing a broad cross-section of company operations, participated in the SAVe Certification process, which involves an educational program, workshop, and planning session. The certification program is designed to help organizations develop action plans to advance the 2030 SDGs.
“Shure’s reputation for leadership extends from technology to sustainability, and now that the company has become SAVe Certified, we expect many other industry members to follow its example,” said Christina De Bono, founder and president of SAVe, an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
SAVe provides a vehicle for the AV industry to achieve sustainable development and serves as a bridge to other industries, NGOs and partner organizations who share the conviction that we must take urgent action to preserve the health of our planet, communities, and people.
“By becoming a SAVe Certified company, Shure has deepened its commitment to sustainability, and we look forward to working with SAVe and other organizations who will help us continue to evolve in this essential focus area,” said Athea Ricketts, Chief Transformation Officer and VP of Enterprise Initiatives. Ricketts is a charter member of the SAVe Sustainable Manufacturers Council and will speak in that capacity at the SAVe 2026 Global Conference in Los Angeles held October 13-14.
SAVe is comprised of global leaders from the AV industry who are committed to advancing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and to providing information, inspiration and leadership for our industry to take meaningful action.
SAVe initiatives include:
- SAVe Certification, a process by which organizations can develop an action plan to advance the SDGs
- SAVe: A Second Life, a program designed to reduce e-waste by giving AV equipment a second life at the end of its first one
- SAVe Sustainable Manufacturers Council, which seeks to provide AV manufacturers the information, tools and leadership necessary to accelerate the sector’s transition to a more sustainable future
